Ellie and friends

Lately Ellie has been around many little kids. The ones pictured are Colton her cousin, Charlotte another cousin, and our friend's son Jameson.
On another note. Ellie is already rolling over back to tummy. Once I figure out how to get my videos to work i'll post one.

Photo Friday

This week I went back to work and Aunt Jess watched Ellie. I was apprehensive about going back because I was sad to leave her, but at least I got to see my fifth grade class before they become junior high students. They must have really grown for the two and a half months I was gone because it is though I am around the same height as most of the class.

Here are some pics Aunt Jess took to send me while I was at school. It just made my day :)

Ellie is 2 months old!

Wow! Time is flying being a mother.  Ellie is 2 months old. I can't believe it! Next week I go back to work for a week and a half. (although it will be short, it will be hard not being with her all day) Then, it's summer vacation! However, I will have my last two classes of grad school and if all goes right, will finally graduate with my Master's in Curriculum & Instruction in education at the end of summer. It's been hard juggling grad school and a newborn, but I'm thankful for maternity leave.  I wouldn't have been able to write that 19 page research paper if I was teaching too.

Anyways... let's talk about this sweet little 2 month old.
Ellie is getting so big, well I should say long! She is started to wear 3-6 month clothing and some of her dresses she wears are 6 month sizes.  At her 2 month checkup she is 11 lbs 5 oz and 25 in long.  She had to get shots, but did pretty well; only crying a little bit.
  • She smiles and talks a lot now.
  • Her favorite toy is her pink giraffe that plays music.
  • She loves to be in her swing or upright on your shoulder to look around.
  • Ellie sleeps most of the night.  Ranging from 3-5 hours at a time;I get up only twice to feed her.
  • She tries to put her whole fist in her mouth when she doesn't have her pacifier. (we both were thumb suckers, so I wonder if she will be one too)
  • She is still sleeping in her bassinet at night, but during the day she sleeps in her crib.

Here are some pictures of her at 2 months.  She loves to put her fingers in her mouth and as I was shooting her picture, she gave Jessica and me the bird! Couldn't believe I got a photo of that! Silly girl! She must take after her daddy ;)  The last two pictures look like Ellie is really trying to pose for the camera.

Ellie goes to Effingham

This past weekend was our first overnight trip with Ellie.  We went to see Grammy and Grandpa (Adam's parents) down in Effingham for the weekend.  I believe we left, taking everything except the kitchen sink.  I don't know how people can pack with more than one kid.  We have a small SUV and still we were packed to the brim in Ellie's items along with our own: our suitcase, Ellie's suitcase, play mat, pack-n-play, breastpump bag, Ellie's diaper bag, toiletry bag, stroller, and oh, our 80 pound Bernese Mountain Dog, Ambra.  It was a tight fit, but we made it there.

Once we got there, it was a great time. We got our own beautiful bedroom suite in the basement, which Adam's parent just finished in time for us to stay.  It was a beautiful weekend!

Another thing she loved was her new bouncy seat that Grammy told Grandpa to get.  When she was in it, Grandpa made her smile and laugh so much.
